Locked out in Hilliard?

Locked out in Hilliard? An emergency locksmith request starts with the entrance, the key and your actual location. Call 614-954-8345 to discuss what happened and current availability.

First, say which door you need

A private front door, a shared apartment entrance and a workplace door involve different access arrangements. Tell us which entrance is involved and whether you are the owner, tenant or person authorized to arrange the work.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first. For an ordinary lockout, stay in a safe place while discussing the next step. You do not need to try to force the lock or find a way around it.

02

What happened to the key?

Keys inside the home, a lost key and a key that no longer turns are useful distinctions. Explain what happened immediately before you lost access. If part of a key appears to be stuck, mention that rather than trying to pull it out with another object.

A short description is enough for the first conversation. The condition of the door and hardware still needs to be understood before a particular method or repair can be agreed.

03

Give the entrance, not only the destination

At a Hilliard home, give the street number and the entrance you are waiting near. In Old Hilliard, a shop name may be a helpful reference, but a business's front door and a car in a nearby parking lot are different requests.

If the issue concerns a car, have its year, make and model ready. For an overhead garage door, describe its position and behavior; opening a house door and repairing a garage system are different jobs.

04

A clear conversation before work

Ask what the proposed visit and estimate include, what still needs to be checked and who can approve the work. If the proposed work changes after an inspection, ask for an explanation before agreeing.

Current availability depends on the actual request. The purpose of the call is to understand the situation and the next step, without guessing a repair or promising an arrival time.

A few common questions

Useful before a call.

Can you tell me exactly how the door will be opened?

The door, hardware and authorization need to be understood first. Describe the situation and discuss the proposed work before it begins.

What if I have just moved in?

Mention that and explain what access or ownership documents you have available. A key-change discussion may also be useful after access is restored.

Start with what happened.

Your address, the door or vehicle, and a short description are a good beginning.
