Hilliard · Practical information

The place you visited may not be where you parked.

The café, shop or park you visited may not be the place where your car is waiting. A few location details can make a parked-car request much clearer.

01

Name the lot or street

The City of Hilliard lists Center, Madison and Columbia as separate downtown public parking lots. If you are in one of them, give its name along with the vehicle's position.

For on-street parking, give the street and a nearby address or entrance. A destination such as Station Park can be a helpful reference, but should not replace the actual car location.

02

Add the detail you can see

A parking section, nearest entrance or clear description of the car's position may help. Use ordinary words and stay in a safe place.

The purpose is to distinguish your vehicle from the wider destination. There is no need to guess a coordinate, walk along a busy road or access an area you are not permitted to enter.

03

Say what happened to the key

Keys inside, keys missing and a key or fob that stopped working are different requests. Have the vehicle's year, make and model ready, and mention whether a working spare exists.

Vehicle entry and replacement-key work are separate conversations. Ask about the specific support needed for the car rather than assuming one request includes the other.

04

If it is a business door instead

Identify the actual entrance and the person who can authorize the work. A customer door, staff entrance and shared-building entrance may have different arrangements.

Give the street number even if you know the business name. Describe whether the lock, key or latch is causing trouble.

05

Use current parking information

Signs, entrances and event arrangements can change. The City's downtown parking page is the right place to check current public information.

No local reference here guarantees parking availability, permission to use a particular entrance or a relationship with a business or public facility.

06

Bring it together in one sentence

For example: “My keys are inside my car in the Madison Lot. I can give you the vehicle details and describe where it is parked.” That is more useful than only naming the place you visited.

Start with what happened.

Your address, the door or vehicle, and a short description are a good beginning.
